PRINCETON, N.J. – After a record breaking performance at home last weekend, the Princeton women's track and field team will hit the road again for the 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.
The Tigers are coming off their first home meet of the season, the Sam Howell Invitational, where several athletes set new program records.
Adelaide Asante broke the school record in the 200m, running 23.66 to be just under the previous 23.67 record set in 2022.
With her time, Asante jumped from ninth on the leaderboard with her 2024 time of 24.36, up to first place.
Mena Scatchard also set a new program in the 5000m, clocking in at a blazing 15:48.24. Her time smashed the 2015 program record of 15:54.03.
The record marks Scatchard's seventh in the Princeton indoor and outdoor books combined. Her mark currently ranks 24th nationally, fifth in the East region and sixth in the Ivy League all-time.
In the field events, Angela McAuslan-Kelly won the hammer throw, setting a new PR with a mark of 62.15m/203-11".
The mark is an improvement of over 1m from her previous best of 60.99m. The performance also bumped her up from third to second on the all-time Princeton leaderboard.
Shea Greene currently holds 19th in the nation in the javelin, after she threw 52.14m/171' 1" at the Monmouth Season Opener two weekends ago.
Princeton enters the outdoor season looking to complete the Triple Crown after winning the Ivy Cross Country Championship this Fall and winning the Ivy Indoor title this winter. The titles marked the program's first since 2015 in cross country, and first since 2011 for indoors.
