Mudd Sets New Ivy League Pole Vault Record at 44 Farms Invitational

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – With Tessa Mudd setting a new Ivy League record in the pole vault, the Princeton women's track and field team concluded competition at the 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, on Saturday.
Mudd cleared an impressive 4.38m/14-4.5" in the pole vault invite, besting her own Ivy League record of 4.30m set last year.
Several Tigers also set new personal bests, as Layla Giordano threw 51.49m/168-11" in the discus and Nicole Woods threw 46.78m/153-6" in the javelin.
The Tigers saw strong performances in the field events, with Shea Greene throwing 54.22m/177' 11" in the javelin for third at the meet.
Georgina Scoot took second in the triple jump, clearing 13.35m/43-9.75".
Angela McAuslan-Kelly threw 61.52m/201-10" in the hammer throw for fifth place, while Siniru Iheoma placed sixth in the discus with a season-best mark of 54.03m/177-3".
In the high jump, Maddy Wood took sixth with a season best 1.72m/5-7.75", while Alysa Carrigan cleared 1.67m/5-5.75" for eighth place.
Franziska Burchett ran a season-best 12.12 in the 100m.
In the multis, Mirtel Klaar finished 11th in the Heptathlon with a total score of 5201 after taking sixth with a personal best in the shot put yesterday and placing eighth in the 200 with a time of 25.20.
Up next, the Tigers will head down to North Carolina and Virginia for the Wake Forest Invitational and the Virginia Challenge next weekend, April 18 & 19.
