Women's Track and Field Concludes Record-Breaking Weekend at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – In a weekend filled with new records, the Princeton women's track and field team closed out competition at the Virginia Challenge on Saturday in Charlottesville.
Layla Giordano set a new personal best and jumped to third all-time in the Princeton record books in the discus with a throw of 55.16m/181-0".
Makenna Marshall also set a new PR in the discus, throwing 52.28m/171-6".
Jana Ter Wee set a new best in the shot put, throwing 14.26m/46-9.5" for 11th place, while Nicole Rodriguez set a new personal best in the javelin, throwing 39.26m/128-10".
Angela McAuslan-Kelly won the hammer throw with a mark of 60.55m/198-8".
In the jumps, Alex Kelly jumped a season-best 12.81m/42-0.5" in the triple jump for seventh place. Audrey Kirkutis also cleared 1.69m/5-6.5" in the high jump, setting a new personal best.
In the 400, Maisha Atkinson set a new personal record, clocking in at 54.49.
Also in the sprints, Adelaide Asante finished sixth in the 200, clocking in at 24.01. Asante also took sixth in the 100 hurdles with a season-best time of 13.69.
On Day 1, Tessa Mudd set another new Ivy League record in the pole vault just a week after breaking her own Ivy League record in the event from last year, clearing 4.40m/14-5¼" to win the event.
Her mark is a 2cm improvement from her performance at the 44 Farms Team Invite last weekend, which won her Ivy Athlete of the Week Honors.
Georgina Scoot tied her own school record in the long jump, jumping an impressive 6.49m/21-3½ to match her 2024 mark.
Alex Kelly also had a day in the long jump, coming in at 6.30m/20-8 for fourth and a new NCAA #22.
In the high jump invite, Alysa Carrigan set a new personal best, clearing 1.75m/5-8.75" for fourth place.
