PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton women's track and field team will head south this weekend for two meets in the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18, and the Virginia Challenge on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19.
The Tigers most recently competed at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Invitational, where Tessa Mudd broke her own Ivy League record in the pole vault, clearing 4.38m/14-4.5". Her mark currently ranks 11th on the NCAA qualifying list.
For her performance, Mudd was named Ivy League Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Adelaide Asante set a new personal record in the 400 hurdles, running 59.63 for sixth place at the meet. Her time improves her mark at seventh in the all-time Princeton record book.
First-year Layla Giordano set new personal bests in the shot put, throwing 15.05m/49-4.5", and in the discus, with a mark of 51.49m/168-11".
Georgina Scoot took second in the triple jump, clearing 13.35m/43-9.75" for a new NCAA #8.
Shea Greene also put herself 13th nationally with a javelin throw of 54.22m/177' 11".
Also on the NCAA qualifying list, Mena Scatchard holds 24th in the 5000 with her Princeton record time of 15:48.24. Lexi Allen holds 24th in the 3000 Steeplechase, with her time of 10:15.16.
Princeton enters the outdoor season looking to complete the Triple Crown after winning the Ivy Cross Country Championship this Fall and winning the Ivy Indoor title this winter. The titles marked the program's first since 2015 in cross country, and first since 2011 for indoors.
