PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's track and field team will host the Sam Howell Invitational and Distance Carnival on Friday, April 4th at home in Weaver Stadium.Â
The Tigers return to their home track after competing at the Monmouth Season Opener last weekend in West Long Branch, N.J. Princeton earned a 1-2-3-4-5 sweep of the 100m, with Jadon Spain setting a new NCAA #8 at 10.30. Paul Kuhner came in second at 10.49, while Charles Sexton (10.54), Zach Della Rocca (10.58) and Kavon Miller (10.69) followed.Â

The Tigers also earned a 1-2-3 sweep in the 110 hurdles, with Greg Foster setting a new PR and NCAA #17 with a time of 13.93 for first. Easton Tan took second with a personal best time of 14.07, while Albert Kreutzer took third at 14.28.Â

Casey Helm had a standout performance in the discus, throwing a new PR of 61.67m/202-04" - his first mark over 60m for first in the event. His mark ranks fourth on the current NCAA Qualifying list.

The weekend marked Helm's second big weekend of the outdoor season, as the junior bested his own newly-set PR in the event of 59.90m/196-06", which he threw at the Penn Challenge on March 21st. For his efforts at the Penn Challenge, Helm was named Ivy Athlete of the Week.Â

In the high jump at Monmouth, Seb Clatworthy cleared 2.15m/7-0.50" for a new PR and the #12 spot on the current national list.

Princeton is entering the outdoor season after winning its 10th-consecutive indoor and fourth-consecutive cross country title, looking to complete the Triple Crown this Spring.Â

At last year's Outdoor Heps, the Tigers achieved their 11th all-time Triple Crown at home in Weaver Stadium, winning Ivy Outdoor Heps for the 22nd time after compiling 204.5 points. The Triple Crown was also the first under Head Coach Jason Vigilante. Jackson Clarke was named Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning the 100 meters and the 200 meters while also helping Princeton finish second in the 4x100 meter relay.
