PRINCETON, N.J. – Ivy League play opens for the Princeton University women's volleyball team inside the Palestra at 7 p.m. on Sept. 26 against the University of Pennsylvania.
Championship Tradition
The Tigers won their 20th Ivy League title in program history in 2023, finishing Ivy play with a 12-2 record. Princeton shared the championship with Yale, who also went 12-2 in conference play. Princeton's 20 Ivy titles are the most of any Ivy program, with Yale's 14 coming in second.
Head Coach Sabrina King
King is in her 14th season as head coach at Princeton. She has guided the Tigers to five Ivy League titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and has been named Ivy Coach of the Year three times. Throughout her tenure as head coach, King has coached four Ivy League Players of the Year and 44 All-Ivy honorees. A member of the Class of 2001 at Princeton, she won three Ivy titles as a plyer, was the 1999 Ivy Player of the Year and was a three-time All-Ivy selection.
Pushing the Defending National Champions To The Limit
The Tigers gave the defending national champions, No. 13 Penn State, all they could handle on Sept. 19 inside Rec Hall, taking a 2-1 lead over the Nittany Lions but ultimately falling just short, 3-2 (25015, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-8). Valerie Nutakor recorded her third double-double of the season, compiling a team-high 14 kills along with 10 digs. Erin McNair added 13 kills and eight digs while Ava Harrington finished with a career-high nine kills. Sydney Draper, who recorded her 2,000th career assist, handed out a team-high 44 assists and Sydney Bold led the Tigers in digs with 13 along with service aces with two. Lucia Scalamandre's three blocks were also a team-high.
A Sweep Of The Chippewas
The Tigers closed out the Penn State Classic with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 27-25) sweep of Central Michigan inside Rec Hall Saturday on Sept. 20. Nutakor led the match in kills with 13, hitting .303, and added eight digs. Scalamandre also recorded double figure kills as she finished with 11 on a .786 attacking percentage, while also finishing with three blocks. Sydney Draper tallied her fourth double-double of the season with a match-high 29 assists and 10 digs, sharing the team-high with Sydney Bold and Olivia Foye. Additionally, Shelby Burriss tied the match-high in blocks with five.
Ivy Rookie of The Week
The Ivy League announced its first round of weekly awards of 2025 on Sept. 8 and Clarke was honored as Rookie of the Week.
Accurate Hitting
Princeton currently ranks No. 37 in the nation in hitting percentage (.271).
Sensational Scalamandre
Lucia Scalamandre, a three-time All-Ivy honoree, currently ranks No. 5 among active career leaders in hitting percentage (.388). In 2025, she ranks No. 13 in the nation and No. 1 in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.458), No. 8 in blocks-per-set (0.91) and No. 10 in points-per-set (3.30).
A National Assist Leader
The 2023 Ivy Rookie of the Year, Draper was named to the Ivy League All-Tournament Team in 2024 and is a two-time all-conference selection. She currently ranks No. 18 nationally and leads the Ivy League in assists-per-set (10.44).
Strong Senior Season From Nutakor
Valerie Nutakor ranks fourth in the Ivy League in kills-per-set (3.37) and seventh in points-per-set (3.52)
Big Impact From Bold
Sydney Bold leads the Tigers and fifth third in the Ivy League in digs-per-set (3.92).
Freshman Impact
The Tigers freshmen class have quickly made an impact. Clark ranks No. 7 in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.336) and No. 9 in kills-per-set (2.84) while Olivia Foye ranks No. 8 in digs (2.79).
Scouting Penn
The Quakers are 6-3 on the season and took down Saint Peters at the Delaware Invitational on Sept. 20 in their most recent match, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-18)
