Tigers Win Seven Events at Penn Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Picking up seven event wins and five NCAA top-50 times, the Princeton men's track and field team tallied another strong team performance at the Penn Invitational on Friday.
In the mile, the Tigers claimed places one through eight, with Connor McCormick leading the charge with a time of 3:59.28. Myles Hogan was behind him at 3:59.37, setting a new PR to enter the all-time program top-10. At 3:59.47, Collin Boler rounded out the top three and the Tigers running sub-4. They are now ranked #41, #46 and #47 on the current NCAA list.
Sebastian Martinez, Christian Groendyk and Sebi Hume took the podium in the 3000m. Martinez won with a time of 8:02.10, while Groendyk set a new PR of 8:04.25.
The Tigers had a 1-2-4 finish in the 400m, with Xavier Donaldson winning the event with a season-best time of 46.92 for a new NCAA #27. Jonathan York and Joey Gant weren't far behind him, with York clocking in at 47.06 for a new NCAA #31 and Gant at 47.90.
Jackson Clarke picked up another win in the 60m, running 6.71. Greg Foster set a PR in the event running 6.72, bumping him up to eighth on the school leaderboard.
Joe Licata had a new PR in the shot put, throwing 19.51m / 64-00.25" to rank third all-time in the Princeton record book.
Casey Helm and Tyler Konopka took second and third, throwing 18.50m / 60-08.50 and 16.81m / 16.81m respectively.

The Tigers will return to the Ott Center again next weekend for the Penn Classic on Friday, Feb. 6.
