PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's track and field team will head back to the Ott Center on Friday and Saturday for the Penn Classic.
Â
With Heps on the horizon later this month, the Tigers will use this opportunity to get more competition against Ivy League and potential NCAA opponents.
Â
Last weekend, the Tigers were at the Ott Center for the Penn Invitational. There, Princeton won seven events and set five NCAA top-50 marks.
Joe Licata set a huge PR in the shot put, throwing 19.51m / 64-00.25" to rank third all-time in the Princeton record book. His mark ranks eighth in the NCAA currently.
For his performance, Licata was named Ivy Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. With Jackson Clarke winning last week and Greg Foster claiming the award before that, Licata's marks the third-straight weekly award for the Tigers.
Â
The Tigers enter the 2025-26 indoor track season chasing a third-consecutive Ivy League Triple Crown. This Fall, the Tigers continued their streak of success as they won the 2025 cross country championship.Â
Â
Last year, Princeton completed its 12th all-time and second-consecutive Triple Crown by winning the 2025 Outdoor Heps Championship.Â
Â
In the indoor season, Princeton dominated, claiming the Ivy title by a margin of 85 points. Across the meet, the Tigers had seven individual Ivy Champions and two relay wins.
Â
Of last year's indoor individual champions, four will return in Licata (SP), Foster (LJ), Clarke (200m) and Gant (400m).
Â
The entire 4x400 champion squad of Kavon Miller, Jonathan York, Karl Dietz, and Xavier Donaldson also returns, alongside Collin Boler of the 4x800 championship team.
Â
The Tigers are led by Jason Vigilante, in his third year at the helm. Since being named the head coach, Vigilante has led the Tigers to two Triple Crowns. He was named the 2025 Outdoor Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year, and the 2025 Indoor and Outdoor Ivy Coach of the Year.Â
