PRINCETON, N.J. – Returning to Jadwin for one last home dual, the Princeton wrestling team will host Ivy rival Penn on Saturday at noon. Saturday's match will also mark senior day, as the Tigers celebrate their four wrestlers in the Class of 2026.

About the Tigers
- Princeton most recently fell to Cornell at home last Saturday, Feb. 7, 31-5.Marc-Anthony McGowan and Ty Whalen were the two Tigers to come up with a result, as both took victories by decision.
- The Tigers' last win was a solid 27-18 victory on the road at Brown. Despite falling to Harvard the day prior, three Tigers went 2-0 on the weekend in Eligh Rivera, Whalen and Holden Garcia.
- Rivera had two victories by decision, while Whalen and Garcia each picked up a major and either a fall or tech fall across the two matches.
- Princeton is now 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the Ivy League
- First-year Matthew Martino has been on a tear as of late, making another come-from-behind victory at Harvard as he scored 14 unanswered points to win against Dante Frinzi. The performance came just a week after Martino upset #14 Eli Griffin, battling back after being down using a seven-point play.
- In the second NCAA coaches' rankings, released Thursday, three Tigers were ranked with #12 McGowan, #15 Rivera and #21 Whalen. Martino (141) and Garcia (174) were also ranked 28th and 27th, respectively, in their weight classes in the RPI.
- Three of the Tigers' losses have been to ranked opponents, including #19 Pitt, #22 WVU and #20 Lehigh.
- Having a strong season, Rivera and Whalen each had podium finishes at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas invite in December, with Rivera taking silver in the 149 class and Whalen taking bronze at 165.
- En route to the final match, Rivera had two straight top-5 wins as he took down #3 Lachlan McNeil in the quarterfinal before downing #4 Jacob Frost in the semifinal.
- Princeton boasted five NCAA qualifiers in 2025, with three still competing this season in McGowan, Rivera and Whalen.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Joe Dubuque, in his third year at the helm. The former national champion from Indiana is joined by fellow national champions Cody Brewer, head assistant coach, and Anthony Ashnault, assistant coach, both in their second year with the Tigers. Assistant Coach Ryan Wolfe, in his first year at Princeton, rounds out the Tiger corner.
