Baseball Splits Doubleheader With No. 17 NC State

The Wolfpack scored in each of the first five innings of the game, highlighted by a five-run third frame.
Princeton's only run came on a bases loaded walk by Joseph Zorc in the ninth stanza.
The Tigers' pitching staff struck out seven with Charlie Wolf punching out two in his collegiate debut.

Isaac Lamson's solo home run in the sixth inning proved to be the only run as Princeton collected its first victory of the season.
The first scoring threat of the contest came from the Wolfpack in the bottom of the third stanza as they had two in scoring position but Brady Kaufman got a strikeout to thwart the home squad.
Lamson broke the scoreless tie in the top half of the sixth.

Kaufman finished his outing after five innings of work, allowing just one hit while punching out three.
Ryan Penney retired eight of the first nine hitters he faced before the ninth inning. The Wolfpack began their final at-bat with a double, but Penney got a fly out and two strikeouts to secure the victory.
The Tigers head back on the road next week to take on Duke in a four-game set (Feb. 27-Mar. 1).
