Princeton Drops Series Opener to Duke, 6–2

DURHAM, N.C. - The Princeton Baseball Team fell short 6-2 in their series opener against Duke.
Duke opened up the scoring in this matchup in the bottom of the third inning with Cider Canon launching a two-run home run. Canon hit another two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.
Princeton's rookie Bennett Crerar responded in the seventh with a two-run blast, his first collegiate home run, cutting the deficit to two. The Blue Devils answered with two in the bottom of the seventh.
With Justim Kim working the mound for five innings followed by Elliot Eaton to close, the pitching pair combined for six strikeouts in the loss.
The Tigers will take on the Blue Devils Saturday in a double header, with the first game scheduled for 1 PM followed by the second game at 4 PM.
