Chris Cooper is in his first season at Princeton as an assistant coach with the men's lacrosse team.
He came to Princeton from Denison, where he helped the team to a 32-4 record in two seasons while producing six All-Americas, 19 all-league selections, the league’s offensive and defensive players of the year, the newcomer of the year and the coach of the year.
Denison went 19-1 in 2014 and reached the Division III quarterfinals after winning the North Coast Athletic Conference championship. The Big Red set school records in 2014 for wins, goals and assists and had the fifth-ranked scoring offense in Division III with 16.0 goals per game. Cooper also worked with the face-off group, which ranked fifth in DIII and produced one All-America.
Cooper is a graduate of Central Michigan, where he majored in public administration and community planning. He also coached with the Michigan State club team, helping the team into the MCLA top 10, and with the Dutch national team.
Cooper and his fiance Stephanie Walker, a ninth-grade English teacher, will be married this fall.
