Lisa Baumert enters her third year as a volunteer assistant coach with the women's cross country and track teams working with the distances runners.
A 2009 graduate of Wheaton College, Baumert was a member of the Thunder's cross country and track teams.
Lisa Baumert qualified for the 2012 United States Olympic Trials in the marathon after her race in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Baumert ran 2:41.17, averaging 6:09 per mile over the 26-mile course. She finished 25th among all women in the race of more than 38,000 competitors.
Baumert competed in cross country and track and field at Wheaton from 2005-09. She was a CCIW Cross Country Champion in 2008 as well as 2008 CCIW Outdoor Track Champion in the 5,000-meter, 2009 CCIW Indoor Track Champion in the one-mile run and 2009 CCIW Outdoor Track Champion in the 10,000-meter run. She represented Wheaton at the 2007 and 2008 NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championships, earning All-American honors in 2007. She also competed for the Thunder at the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as well as the 2009 Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
She is currently enrolled in the Princeton Theological Seminary.
