PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Sophomore Ray Robins, who entered the game with a career total of 16 points, scored 27 points as Princeton returned from a 16-day layoff with a 90-49 victory over Catholic University on Monday night.
Princeton (8-7) met Catholic (13-3) for the first time since 1926 and had no trouble, despite playing without injured forwards Mason Rocca and Nate Walton.
Robins, who had never scored more than three points in a game, stepped in at forward and shot 10-for-12, making his final 10 shots. He was 5-for-7 from the 3-point range. Mike Bechtold had a career-high 12 for Princeton, while Eugene Baah tied a career-high with 11 points.
Dan Harrington led Catholic with 21 points.
Tim Judge's 3-pointer gave Catholic its only lead at 3-2. The Tigers responded with a 22-1 run for a 24-4 lead, holding Catholic without a field goal for 8:24.
Princeton outscored Catholic 19-8 over the final six minutes for a 51-19 halftime lead.
Robins scored eight of Princeton's first 10 points in the second half for a 61-24 lead and the Tigers led by over 40 for most of the second half.
Princeton had its highest scoring output since a 90-48 win over Division III Hamilton in January 1997.
