PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Coming off a scoreless effort against Penn, freshman Spencer Gloger had 22 points and five steals as Princeton defeated Columbia, 81-52, Friday night.
C.J. Chapman and Chris Young added 15 apiece for Princeton (14-9, 6-2), with Chapman hitting five of the Tigers 13 3-pointers. Craig Austin had 18 for Columbia (10-12, 4-5), which played without leading scorer Victor Munoz.
In posting its highest point total against a Division I team this season, Princeton had assists on 23 of 25 baskets. Ahmed El-Nokali had 11 points and a team-high five assists for the Tigers.
After being held to 46 points in a critical loss to Penn on Tuesday, Princeton nearly equaled that output in taking a 41-19 halftime lead and putting the game away early. Holding a 19-10 advantage, the Tigers outscored the Lions 22-9 over the final 10 minutes of the half.
Princeton shot 54 percent overall and 53 percent (9-17) from 3-point range in the first half while forcing Columbia into 11 turnovers and 33 percent shooting. The Tigers built on their advantage after intermission, leading by as much as 31.
