PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Spencer Gloger scored 16 of his 21 points in the first half as Princeton defeated Cornell, 79-43, Saturday night.
In sweeping the season series from Cornell (7-15, 1-9), Princeton (15-9, 7-2) has now swept 25 of its last 29 Ivy League series.
Gloger, who was 5-for-7 from 3-point range, has 43 points in the past two games since being shut out against Penn. Ray Robins had 14 points for the Tigers, who shot 55 percent overall and 48 percent from 3-point range, while Chris Young had all 10 of his points in the second half.
Big Red leading scorer Ray Mercedes, who sat for 15 minutes in the first half after getting a technical foul, had 10 points, including the 1,000th of his career. Wallace Prather had 11, all in the first half.
Cornell cut an 11-1 deficit to 17-13 midway through the first half, but Gloger responded with two straight 3-pointers to spark a 13-5 run and give Princeton a 30-18 lead.
Leading 42-27, the Tigers started the second half with an 18-6 run to open a 60-33 advantage. Young had eight points in the run. Cornell got no closer than 23, scoring just 16 points in the second half and shooting 29 percent for the game.
