Konrad Wysocki was named Ivy League men's basketball Rookie of the Week for the second straight time. Sort of, at least.
Wysocki was previously selected the last week of December after his performance in the Holiday Festival. The Tigers then had 16 days off before the sweep last weekend of Cornell and Columbia.
The freshman center from Lollar, Germany, had 24 points in the two games, while shooting 8 for 10 from the field. Both of his misses were on three-point attempts.
Wysocki tied his career high Friday night with 16 against Cornell. He then had eight points on 4 for 4 shooting with five rebounds against Columbia.
Wysocki, who scored just seven points in the season's first seven games, is averaging 11.0 points, and 5.3 rebounds a game since while making 25 of 39 shots (64.1 percent).
Princeton is 6-7 overall, 2-0 in the Ivy League, as it heads into another 16-day layoff, this time for first semester exams. Princeton returns to action Monday, Jan. 29, at home against the College of New Jersey before finishing the season with 12 Ivy League games.
