Goodrich Signs With Nets

The New Jersey Nets have signed center Steve Goodrich, it was announced by Nets President/General Manager Rod Thorn. As per team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.
Goodrich, the 1998 Ivy League Player of the Year, appeared in 12 games with the Chicago Bulls during the 2000-01 season, averaging 1.6 ppg and 1.8 rpg. He scored a season-high four points on April 6 at Indiana, and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds on April 17 at New Jersey. Goodrich also played 24 games with Pallacenestro Olimpia Milano of the Italian A-1 League, averaging 9.0 ppg and 3.1 rpg.
Goodrich, who will wear number 54 with the Nets, started every game of his career at Princeton. A three-time first-team All-Ivy selection, he led Princeton to the 1996, 1997 and 1998 league championships. He was a member of the Tiger team that defeated UCLA in the 1996 NCAA tournament, and Princeton was ranked as high as seventh nationally during his senior season.
