Logan Leads Princeton Past Rider 69-57

Andre Logan scored 18 points, one off his career high, to lead Princeton to a 69-57 win over Rider in front of 4,344 at Jadwin Gym.
The game was the first between the local rivals since 1946.
Logan added seven rebounds as the Tigers led by as many as 21 in the second half before holding off a spirited run by the Broncs.
Princeton won for the first time in four games this season, while Rider slipped to 2-2. Princeton next plays at the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C., opening against fourth-ranked Maryland Sunday (1 p.m.) at the MCI Center. Connecticut and George Washington are the other teams in the event.
The Rider game featured two distinct halves for Princeton. The Tigers shot 6 for 11 from three-point range in the first half, building a 32-20 lead at intermission. In the second half, Princeton relied on foul shooting, going 20 for 29 from the line to hold off the Broncs. Princeton outscored Rider 22-10 from the line after being outscored by an average of nine points per game at the free throw line in the first three games.
Princeton used a 17-8 run to start the second half to build its biggest lead of the night at 49-28. From there Broncs freshman guard Jerry Johnson caught fire, hitting five second-half three-pointers to bring Rider as close as eight.
Logan shot 7 for 10 from the field, while Princeton was 20 for 35 as a team.
Konrad Wysocki added 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots in 34 minutes for Princeton. Ahmed El-Nokali had nine points on 3 for 3 shooting and four assists, while freshman Will Venable had eight points while shooting 6 for 7 from the line. Kyle Wente also had eight points, as well as four rebounds and two assists.
Johnson led all scorers with 21, while Mario Porter added 14. Of the 35 for Porter and Johnson, 33 came in the second half.
Rider shot 20 for 54, 7 for 22 from three-point range. Princeton outrebounded Rider 31-20.
