NEW YORK (AP) - Chris Wiedemann scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half as Columbia beat Princeton 59-42 on Friday night to end a 15-game losing streak against the Tigers.
Craig Austin and Victor Munoz each had 13 points for Columbia (9-13, 4-5 Ivy League).
Ahmed El-Nokali scored 13 points for Princeton (11-9, 6-2), which last lost to Columbia on Feb. 26, 1993.
Columbia led 21-13 at halftime. Wiedemann scored eight points in the first eight minutes of the second half and blocked a breakaway layup by Nate Walton as the Lions extended their lead to 32-17.
El-Nokali sparked a rally in the second half that pulled the Tigers to 47-36 with 2:28 remaining. But Columbia countered with four free throws, two each by Derrick Mayo and Austin.
The game was the 205th of the nation's oldest basketball rivalry.
