Sophomore Kyle Wente scored a career-high 17 points to lead Princeton to a 62-49 win over Yale in front of 5,862 at Jadwin Gym Saturday night.
Wente ecplised his previous career high of 16, which he set last night in Princeton's 66-62 win over Brown. The weekend sweep improved Princeton to 9-7 overall, 4-0 in the Ivy League, while Yale slipped to 6-12, 3-2.
Princeton and Penn, who also swept Brown and Yale this weekend, are tied for first place in the Ivy League. The teams, who have combined to win 11 straight league titles and 32 of the last 34, are now 360-30 at home against the other six league schools in the last 34 seasons.
Wente, who had four rebounds, four assists and three steals with his 17 points, was one of four Tigers in double figures. Ahmed El-Nokali had 13, while Nate Walton and Ed Persia had 10 each.
Paul Vitelli tied his career high with 13 to lead Yale.
Princeton led 28-24 at halftime before building a lead of as many as 16 in the second half. The Tigers shot 20 for 38 for the game, while Yale shot just 15 for 50.
Princeton is at Dartmouth and Harvard next weekend.
