Hanover, N.H. - John Thompson told everyone it would be different when his Princeton basketball team went on the road. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the coach was right.
Princeton suffered its first Ivy loss in its first Ivy road game, falling 57-56 to Dartmouth Friday night.
The Tigers are still tied for first place in the league with Penn, who fell 77-62 to Harvard Friday. Princeton is at Harvard Saturday night, while Penn is at Dartmouth.
Princeton led 37-32 at the half and 39-32 after scoring the first basket of the second half, but the Big Green went on a 15-2 run to take control. After leading by as many as eight, Dartmouth let Princeton back in the game, and the Tigers took the lead on Andre Logan's acrobatic layup with 50 seconds to go.
Dartmouth came back to regain the lead when Ian McGinnis scored off a perfect feed from Greg Buth with 26.1 seconds left. Princeton's last chance ended when Logan missed a shot near the basket and Dartmouth gained the rebound.
C.J. Chapman led Princeton with 14 points, all in the first half, while Nate Walton had 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
