Chris Young and Brian Earl were the fan favorites in the recently completed All-Decade Men's Basketball Team balloting on GoPrincetonTigers.com. The Princeton Athletic Department announced the results compiled by their web provider, The FANSonly Network.
Voting was open to the public and conducted exclusively on the school's Official Athletic Site over the last several months. Fans were asked to select from among a list of choices, all of whom played for the Tigers at least one year during the 1990's.
Young played for Princeton for two seasons, earning Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors in 1999 and first-team All-Ivy and honorable mention All-America honors in 2000. He then signed a professional baseball contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, which left him ineligible by Ivy League rules for any other sport.
Earl was the 1999 Ivy League Player of the Year, and he finished his career as the league's all-time leader in three-pointers made. Earl led Princeton to three Ivy League championships and four postseason appearances.
Mueller was a two-time Ivy Player of the Year and three-time first-team All-Ivy selection, he was also named Princeton's Player of the Decade in a media poll. Goodrich, also a three-time first-team All-Ivy pick and the 1997 Ivy League Player of the Year, currently plays for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA.
Henderson was a four-year starter and a member of three Ivy League champions, while Lewullis and Hielscher were both two-time first-team All-Ivy picks.
The complete GoPrincetonTigers.com All-Decade Team, based on total votes, is as follows:
1. Chris Young
