PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Kyle Wente scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half as Princeton rallied to defeat Columbia 49-41 Friday night.
Princeton (8-7, 3-0 Ivy League) won its fifth straight game and its ninth straight at home against Columbia (9-10, 2-3).
After blowing a 13-point first-half lead, Columbia cut Princeton's lead to 43-41 on Craig Austin's 3-pointer with 4:17 remaining. But the Lions went scoreless for the remainder of the game missing all three shots they took and committing three turnovers.
Wente is the fifth different player to lead Princeton in scoring during its winning streak. Ahmed El-Nokali added 11 points and four assists for the Tigers.
Columbia was held to its lowest point total of the season. The Lions got 13 points from Austin and 11 from Joe Case. They committed 19 turnovers, including three 10-second violations against Princeton's press in the second half.
The Tigers opened the second half with 10 straight points to take a 30-26 lead. Columbia's Treg Duerksen made a layup to stop the run, but Princeton then scored six straight to open a 36-28 advantage with 11:15 remaining.
