Cornella, Spain - Andre Logan scored in the final minute to give Princeton a 65-63 win over Cornella as the Tigers improved to 5-1 on their Spanish trip with one game to be played.
"I can definitely see the progress that has been made," Princeton coach John Thompson said. "This opponent is comparable to our previous opponent [Tarragona, who defeated Princeton 86-63] if not better," said head coach John Thompson. "Our defense played together. We have a team that will be a very good defensive unit and we took a step in that direction with this game."
Pere Corominas attempted a three-pointer from the top of the key as time ran out, but the ball rimmed out as the Tigers won the game.
The game was close throughout, and Princeton did not score the deciding points until Logan scored on a layup off an assist from Spencer Gloger. Logan scored seven of his 10 points in the first quarter and then scored just one more until the game-winner. Ray Robins scored a team-high 14 points including five in the fourth quarter. Kyle Wente and Judson Wallace each tallied 12 points and Logan finished the match with 10.
Princeton led 37-33 at halftime before falling behind 49-46 at the end of the third. The Tigers then rallied for the win.
"From the start, the defense was much better than in the game againt Tarragona," said Robins. "We executed the basics that we had struggled with earlier."
