Princeton freshman forward Noah Savage (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) has been named the Ivy League Men's Basketball "Rookie of the Week" for games ending Nov. 28.
Savage shot a combined 6-for-8 from three-point range and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line in two games last week, a 40-38 Princeton victory at Lafayette Saturday and a 64-59 double-overtime defeat at Wyoming Monday.
Against the Leopards, he led the Tigers with 13 points, shooting 3-for-5 from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 from the foul line. Against the Cowboys, Savage shot a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range and had a then-season-high 12 points while adding four rebounds.
Savage has started all four games his freshman season. The first Princeton player to start the first game of his freshman year since Ed Persia in 2000, he is averaging 6.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 25.5 minutes per game.
The Tigers return to action Wednesday night, traveling to Holy Cross for a 6 p.m. game.
