Judson Wallace Named Ivy League Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Princeton junior center Judson Wallace has been named the Ivy League men's basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the first-place Tigers to a weekend sweep of Yale and Brown at Jadwin Gym.
Wallace shot 11-for-12 from the field and scored 18 of his 29 points in the second half as the Tigers came from behind to defeat Yale, 70-58, Friday night. He also added nine rebounds and two assists against the Bulldogs and shot 5-for-7 from the foul line. The next night, against Brown, Wallace scored a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-for-13 from the field, while adding three rebounds and two assists.
The Atlanta native is averaging 23.5 points and 7.3 rebounds over his last four games, all Princeton wins. He had 22 points and nine rebounds in a win at Cornell Feb. 13 and 23 points and eight rebounds in a victory at Columbia Feb. 14.
Wallace has now scored 20 or more points in eight of Princeton's last 14 Ivy League games dating back to last season. He also has 26 or more points four times in 21 games this year; prior to this year, Princeton players had scored 26 or more points 15 times in the last 14 seasons.
The 6-10 Wallace leads Princeton in scoring and rebounding this season both overall (14.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg) and in Ivy League play (13.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg). Wallace was previously named Ivy League Player of the Week Dec. 1 after scoring 31 points against Holy Cross and 28 points against Colgate to open the season.
Princeton, 8-1 in the Ivy League and two games ahead of both Brown and Penn in the loss column, hosts Columbia and Cornell at Jadwin Gym this weekend.
