Men's Basketball Looks to Clinch NCAA Berth with Win at Dartmouth

March 6, 2004
The Princeton men's basketball team is one step away from an outright Ivy League title, a step that can be taken with a win over Dartmouth tonight at Leede Arena (7 p.m., YES Network, goprincetontigers.com).
A win would ensure Princeton's 23rd NCAA tournament berth and its ninth in the last 16 seasons and render the outcome of the season finale at Penn Tuesday moot. A loss, coupled with a Penn win at Harvard, would give Penn a chance to force a one-game playoff for the league's NCAA berth with a win over the Tigers Tuesday.
Princeton (18-7, 11-1 Ivy) is in first place in the Ivy League by two games over Penn, while Dartmouth (3-24, 1-12 Ivy) has lost 17 straight games heading into Dave Faucher's final game as Big Green head coach tonight. The Tigers defeated Dartmouth 61-45 at Jadwin Gym Feb. 6, taking a 33-8 lead in the first half.
The Tigers scored the final nine points of the game and 13 of the final 14 points to earn a 60-51 win at Harvard Friday night. Scott Greenman, who scored 14 points, hit a three-point shot with 1:24 to go and three seconds on the shot clock to put the Tigers ahead for good. Judson Wallace had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Princeton, which defeated Harvard for the 10th straight time. TODAY'S NOTE OF THE DAY
