Maybe the most difficult thing about Ivy League basketball? Having to play less than 24 hours after the end of the previous night's game.
Maybe the best thing for the Princeton basketball team? Having to play Yale at Jadwin Gym Saturday night (7:35 p.m., Patriot 8, WHWH-AM 1350, GoPrincetonTigers.com, WPRB 103.3 FM), less than 24 hours after the end of a 57-52 loss to Brown.
While Princeton's home loss to the Bears was certainly unusual (just the second in 55 meetings with Brown in Princeton), it was just the first game of the league season. After tonight, when Brown and Penn play in Philadelphia, every league team but one will have at at least one conference loss.
The Tigers (9-6, 1-0 Ivy) haven't been 0-2 in league play since the 1983-84 season. Yale (4-10, 0-1 Ivy) fell to Penn in Philadelphia by 24 points Friday night and has lost three straight games overall.
Princeton will likely need better shooting from its two leading scorers to secure a win against the Bulldogs Saturday night. Judson Wallace and Will Venable combined to shoot 9 for 25 from the field against Brown (36%), while the rest of the Tigers were 11 for 22 (50%) from the field.
Princeton has defeated Yale 11 straight times at Jadwin Gym. Nine of those wins have come by double digits.
