Paige Schmidt Selected First-Team All-Region

Princeton, N.J. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named Princeton sophomore Paige Schmidt to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region team on Monday. Schmidt, the 2005 Ivy League Player of the Year, led Princeton and the Ivy League in scoring this season. Senior Maren Ford and freshman Sarah Reinprecht were named the to the region's second-team.
Schmidt was one of 16 players named to the Mid-Atlantic Region's first team. Maryland placed six members on the team to lead all schools in the region. The honor was the third of the postseason for Schmidt, who was named the Ivy League Player of the Year and a first-team All-Ivy selection late last week.
Ford was named a second-team regional pick after being named first-team All-Ivy last week. Reinprecht also received second-team regional honors after receiving the Ivy League Rookie of the Year award and being named second-team All-Ivy.
The Mid-Atlantic region is comprised of schools from New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C. and the eastern half of Pennsylvania.
