Wallace Scores 13 in Portsmouth Invitational Debut

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Princeton's Judson Wallace scored 13 points and had five rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench as his Portsmouth Sports Club came from behind to defeat Beach Barton Ford, 86-81, in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament Thursday night.
The 6-10 Wallace shot 4 for 7 from the field, 1 for 2 from three-point range and 4 for 5 from the free-throw line. Portsmouth Sports Club trailed by 13 points at halftime before outscoring Beach Barton Ford 54-36 in the second half.
DePaul's Quemont Greer came off the bench to lead Portsmouth Sports Club with 19 points, while Houston's Andre Owens had 16 points and Kentucky's Chuck Hayes added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jackie Manuel of national champion North Carolina led Beach Barton Ford with 22 points, shooting 10 for 12 from the field.
The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, now in its 53rd year, is the only postseason tournament prior to the Chicago pre-draft camp. 64 college seniors are invited to the tournament, which is annually attended by nearly 200 representatives from NBA teams.
