Tigers Meet Alabama A&M On Final Day of BCA Classic
November 12, 2006 | Men's Basketball
The song says that two outta three ain't bad. Princeton can make it two wins in three games at the BCA Classic with a win over Alabama A&M in the fifth-place game of the 2006 BCA Classic at Ohio State's Value City Arena.
Game time is approximately 2:15 p.m., or 25 minutes after the conclusion of the seventh-place game between VMI and South Dakota State. The game will be broadcast live on WPRB-FM 103.3 and at GoPrincetonTigers.com with Dan Loney and Ahmed El Nokali on the call.
Princeton defeated VMI 73-68 Saturday afternoon in the second round, but that score was a bit misleading. The Tigers, led by Justin Conway's 15 points and six rebounds, led by as many as 18 points with under six minutes left before the Keydets made a comeback. Princeton freshmen Lincoln Gunn ended that comeback attempt, drilling a three-pointer with 33 seconds left to put his team ahead 67-62.
The Tigers had 20 assists on 25 baskets against VMI, including assists on all 12 of their first-half field goals. Freshman guard Marcus Schroeder, who again played all 40 minutes, had seven assists, while Luke Owings and Edwin Buffmire each had four.
Alabama A&M held off South Dakota State by a 70-66 score in Saturday's first game. The Bulldogs had lost to IUPUI 86-47 in the first game of the BCA Classic Friday afternoon.

Two-Step A Princeton win today, combined with yesterday's win over VMI, would equal the team's non-conference win total from last season. The Tigers went 2-11 in non-league play a year ago before recovering to go 10-4 in the Ivy League.
