Lincoln Gunn Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week
December 11, 2006 | Men's Basketball
Princeton freshman Lincoln Gunn was named the Ivy League Men's Basketball Player of the Week Monday after helping the Tigers come from behind to defeat Lehigh in their home opener on Wednesday.
Gunn scored all of his season-high 12 points in the second half against the Mountain Hawks, leading Princeton back from a seven-point halftime deficit. He made three of his five three-point attempts in the second half and also made all three of his free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt.
Against Rutgers on Saturday, the Orinda, Calif., native had three points and two assists in 24 minutes.
Gunn, part of an all-freshmen starting backcourt with high school teammate Marcus Schroeder, is averaging 6.4 points and 1.8 assists in nine starts this season. He is averaging 32.1 minutes per game, second on the team behind Schroeder's 38 minutes per game.
The Tigers (6-3) next play Saturday afternoon, hosting Marshall at Jadwin Gym at 4 p.m. to conclude a three-game home stretch.
