Tigers Fall to Third-Ranked Stanford

IRVINE, Calif. -- The 16th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team fell to third-ranked Stanford 16-5 and 13th-ranked UC San Diego 10-9 on Saturday at th SoCal Tournament.
Senior Zach Beckmann scored twice in the opener while three others scored goals. In the nightcap, freshman Jeff Cole led the way with three goals scored and freshman Matt Hale added two. Princeton, which trailed 2-0 after one, score six unanswered goals in the second quarter to lead 6-2, but a five goal outbust in the third brought UCSD back into the game. Still, the game was tied after three and Princeton led 9-8 midway through the fourth before two late UCSD goals gave them the win.
