ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell scored two goals in the first period and never trailed in a 3-2 win over the Princeton women's hockey team on Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink. Sophomore Maddie Endicott and senior Marykate Oakley scored for Princeton in the loss.

Cornell jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two goals in the opening period despite being outshot 9-6. Both goals were even strength as Rebecca Johnston and Liz Zorn scored the goals.

Princeton cut the lead in half in the second period on the power play when Oakley scored from senior Lizzie Keady and freshman Sasha Sherry. Cornell responded though and regained the two-goal lead on Amber Moore's goal.

Princeton moved back within a goal in the second period when Endicott scored, but the Tigers were unable to get any closer and fell by a 3-2 final score. Princeton outshot Cornell 26-18.

Princeton returns to action next weekend at Union and Rensselaer.
