Princeton Blanks Union 7-0 in Women's Hockey

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Junior Annie Greenwood scored two goals and 10 Tigers recorded points as the women's hockey team blanked Union 7-0 on Friday night. Princeton scored five goals in the second period to break open a game that was scoreless in the first period.
Princeton outshot Union 60-9 and got on the board 2:43 into the second period when freshman Caroline Park scored her first collegiate goal unassisted. Princeton then extended its leads to 3-0 with two power-play goals. The first came from Greenwood unassisted and the second from junior Katherine Dineen from sophomore Melanie Wallace.
Sophomore Maddie Endicott and Greenwood closed out the second period scoring for Princeton. Freshman Laura Martindale registered her first collegiate point, an assist, on Endicott's goal.
Princeton completed the 7-0 win with two goals in the final period. Senior Marykate Oakley scored her sixth of the season at 3:34 and freshman Sasha Sherry scored Princeton's fifth goal at 5:13.
Park, Endicott, Greenwood and Oakley all finished the game with two points and junior Kristen Young made nine saves for the shutout. The win moved Princeton to 6-7-2 overall and the Tigers complete the weekend tomorrow at Rensselaer.
