Last 2006-07 Road Trip For Men's Basketball Begins at Dartmouth
February 22, 2007 | Men's Basketball
Princeton's final road swing of 2006-07 begins with a chance at redemption and ends with a chance at a season sweep. The Tigers have a good chance at both with the kind of performance that led to this past Saturday's win against Columbia.
Friday's game at Dartmouth (7 p.m., WPRB-FM 103.3, GoPrincetonTigers.com) will offer the Tigers another chance against a Big Green squad that squeaked out a 45-44 decision at Jadwin Gym two weeks ago. Princeton (11-12, 2-7 Ivy) led for most of that game, but was done in by a 10-for-21 performance from the foul line and some big plays from the Big Green (8-15, 3-7 Ivy) down the stretch.
The Tigers' defensive efforts have been stellar recently. Princeton has held each of its last four opponents to a streak of at least seven minutes without a field goal, including an eight-minute stretch in the second half of the win over Columbia.
Junior Kyle Koncz averaged 16 points and five rebounds last weekend despite a stress reaction in his foot that has kept him out of practice since early January. Classmate Kevin Steuerer averaged 11 points last weekend and earned a start against Columbia, his first since Dec. 2005.
Dartmouth lost on the road at Yale and Brown last weekend. Senior Leon Pattman, who didn't play against the Tigers Feb. 10 due to illness, leads the Big Green in scoring at 16 points per game.
