PRINCETON -- Princeton basketball was well represented on Tues., Nov. 4 when John Rogers '80 and Craig Robinson '83 joined President-elect Barack Obama in his Election Day pickup basketball game in Chicago.
The Fox Business Network interviewed Rogers the following day. Have a look at the video here.
Rogers, a Chicago native along with Robinson, heads up the Ariel Capital Management firm he founded 25 years ago and became acquainted with Obama through Rogers' active involvement in his home city.
Robinson, a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, was Rogers' teammate for one season in 1979-80. After his own career in the financial field, Robinson got into coaching as an assistant coach at Northwestern under former Princeton head coach Bill Carmody. After six seasons in Evanston, Robinson parlayed that into the head coaching job at Brown for two seasons before moving on to Oregon State for the upcoming season.
Robinson, of course, is Obama's brother-in-law, and Robinson's sister Michelle is a 1985 Princeton graduate. Robinson also had the honor of speaking at the Democratic National Convention in August.
