Noah Savage Earns Second-Team All-Ivy Honors

Princeton senior forward Noah Savage, who led the Tigers in scoring during the Ivy League season, has been named a second-team All-Ivy League selection in men's basketball in a vote of the league's head coaches announced Wednesday.
Savage, a co-captain for the Tigers in 2007-08, averaged 12.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in Ivy League play and shot an outstanding 40% from three-point range and nearly 85% from the free-throw line. He ranked in the top 10 in the league in scoring, free-throw percentage and three-point shots in league play.
"We are excited that Noah has been recognized as one of the better players in our league," says Princeton head coach Sydney Johnson. "This year, our staff has focused on pushing the ball and being aggressive on the offensive end. With a lot of hard work from start to finish, Noah flourished in our offense and became a bona fide scoring threat."
The Princeton native was the only Tiger to start all 29 games in 2007-08. Overall, he averaged 10 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and finished second on the team with 46 three-point shots.
Savage scored in double figures 12 times this season, including nine times in 14 Ivy League games. His 35 points against Brown Feb. 16 at Jadwin Gym were the most by a Princeton player in a game in 24 seasons, and he averaged better than 15 points per game in Princeton's last eight games.
His 155 career three-point shots rank sixth all-time at Princeton. He started every game for the Tigers in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2007-08 and played in 111 career games for Princeton. starting 88 of those games.
Cornell sophomore guard Louis Dale was named the Ivy League Player of the Year. Dale, teammate Ryan Wittman and Brown guard Mark McAndrew were all unanimous first-team All-Ivy choices, while Brown's Damon Huffman and Columbia's John Baumann were also first-team picks.
Penn freshman Tyler Bernardini was named the league's Rookie of the Year.
