Notes from last night's game...
Guarding the glass: Yale outrebounded Princeton 43-23 for the game. It was the largest margin by more than double that Princeton has been outrebounded this season. The previous high was eight, against Rutgers and against Lafayette, both in December. Princeton had not been outrebounded by such an amount since Dec. 17, 2005, when Wake Forest outrebounded Princeton 39-15.
Cold shooting: Princeton's .356 shooting percentage at Yale was its lowest since Dec. 6 at St. Bonaventure, when the Tigers shot .327.
Turnovers: Princeton's 15 turnovers at Yale were its most since 26 giveaways against South Carolina on Dec. 2, 2008.
Forgoing the three: Yale did most of its damage inside in Friday night's game. The Bulldogs' two three-pointers were an opponent-low in a Princeton loss since Dec. 6, 2008, when St. Bonaventure also had two.
Running their offense: Yale's 14 assists tied a season-high for a Princeton opponent. Manhattan also had 14 on Dec. 14, 2008.
Get that outta here: Yale's six blocks were the most for a Princeton opponent since Princeton's last loss, Dec. 30, 2008. Lafayette also had six blocks that day.
Neighborhood watch: Princeton's last two opponents, Yale and Columbia, each had eight steals. The 16 total steals were a two-game high for a Princeton opponent since Dec. 2-6, 2008, when South Carolina and St. Bonaventure combined for 23 with South Carolina getting 18 of those.
More accurate: Yale's outshooting of Princeton from the field was the first time since Princeton's last loss, at Lafayette on Dec. 30, 2008, that the Tigers had been outshot. Princeton outshot its opponents in each of the seven games during the win streak.
Five for Foley: Princeton sophomore Bobby Foley made the most of his late-game appearance against Yale with a season-high five points on 2 for 2 shooting from the field and 1 for 1 from three-point range. Foley had six points each against Lehigh and Lafayette last season.
Lake rising: Junior Nick Lake had five points at Yale, his most since the Concordia game on Jan. 25 (seven).
Rookie leader: Freshman Douglas Davis, who was accustomed to leading Princeton in scoring during the pre-conference schedule, did so against Yale (11 points) for the first time since the Concordia game on Jan. 25, also with 11.
Strittmatter's on the board: Mike Strittmatter, one of Princeton's two seniors, had missed the season's first 12 games due to injury. He made his third appearance of the season Friday against Yale and hit one of two free throws for his first points of the season.
Bulldogs on Buczak: Junior center Pawel Buczak, who was an important factor in Princeton's 4-0 Ivy start, was held scoreless against Yale. It was his first game without a point since the season opener against Central Michigan on Nov. 14. Buczak's 16 minutes played were his lowest since 13 against Lehigh on Jan. 7. Entering last night's game, Buczak had scored no fewer than eight points in an Ivy game, doing so twice along with a 14-point effort against Dartmouth and a career-high 15 against Cornell.
We're home: Princeton will have its first five-game homestand since February 2002 coming up. The five teams will be the same as they were seven years ago, with Penn, Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown and Yale coming to Jadwin Gym.
