Greenman's Maccabiah Juniors Basketball Team Wins Silver Medal
July 22, 2009 | Men's Basketball
With Princeton men's basketball assistant coach Scott Greenman at the helm, the U.S. entry in the Maccabiah Games junior basketball competition came away with a silver medal July 21.
The U.S. team won all six round-robin games against Germany, Canada, Israel, Argentina, Azerbaijan and Australia, defeating its opponents by an average of 51 points. The team that came the closest to the U.S. during round-robin play, Israel, was the team that knocked off the Americans for the gold medal. After losing to the U.S. by 16 points on July 14, Israel squeaked by a week later, 79-77, to win gold as the host country.
Greenman and the rest of the Princeton basketball team and staff will begin its season Nov. 14 against Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
