Watch Dan Mavraides' Buzzer-Beater Against Siena
December 01, 2010 | Men's Basketball
Dan Mavraides' game-tying three-pointer as the seconds ticked away in regulation last Sunday at Jadwin Gym against Siena was perhaps the most exciting shot of the new season so far, and is now available to watch free in the clip above.
John Sadak and Noah Savage '08 are on the audio call, which is free for all games here and on WPRB 103.3 FM in the Princeton area.
Mavraides is one of three Tigers averaging double-figure points this season as Princeton is off to a 4-3 start including back-to-back wins. The first of those two came against Siena, 86-77 in overtime, and Princeton followed with an 82-64 win over Lafayette Tuesday night on the road.
The Tigers have shown to be a high-scoring group in the first seven games of 2010-11, reaching 500 points faster than any other Princeton team in 39 years.
The play that led to the senior's three-pointer, one of two he made in the final minute of regulation Sunday, began with 5.7 seconds left and tied the game at 69-69 with less than a second to go before overtime. The Tigers outscored Siena 17-8 in the extra period.
Princeton will be home Sunday for a 5 p.m. tip against Saint Joseph's in the Hawks' first visit to Jadwin Gym in 15 years. Buy tickets here, or if you can't attend the game, sign up to watch on TigerZone here.
