Maddox Earns Back-to-Back Ivy Player of the Week Honors
December 20, 2010 | Men's Basketball
In recognition of his 23-point game at Wagner, Kareem Maddox has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for men's basketball for the second straight week.
It is also the third straight week that a Princeton player has been so recognized after sophomore forward Ian Hummer won the award two weeks ago.
Maddox, a senior forward, has been on a scoring tear of late, starting with his 30-point game against Siena on Nov. 28. Two weeks later, he bettered that career-best to 31 in a double-overtime win at Tulsa before adding 23 to his total last time out. Maddox's 54 points over the last two games are the most for a Tiger in back-to-back contests in three years since Noah Savage '08 scored 57 in February 2008.
Maddox is averaging 18.8 points per game over the last six contests, a span that includes all five of his double-digit scoring games this season.
Princeton will return to competition Wednesday at 4 p.m. in its first visit to Towson and first game in the state of Maryland since 2003.
