February 01, 2010 | Men's Basketball
PRINCETON -- The Ivy League has selected Douglas Davis as its Player of the Week and Ian Hummer as the Rookie of the Week for men's basketball after Princeton swept the Brown-Yale trip for the first time since 2004.
It is the first Ivy Player of the Week award of Davis' career and first for Princeton since Dan Mavraides was honored Feb. 2, 2009. Hummer's award is his second after winning the honor Dec. 14, 2009.
Davis scored 16 points at Brown and 13 points at Yale to lead Princeton in both games, hitting 11 of 19 shots from the field and 5 of 11 from beyond the arc. He also had nine rebounds between the two contests, his highest two-game total of the season, while grabbing a season-high five at Yale.
Hummer reached double digits in points for the fifth time this season with 10 at Brown before adding eight at Yale. Since the end of the finals break, Hummer has scored 28 points in three games for his highest three-game total as a Tiger.
Princeton stands 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League heading into another pivotal weekend at Harvard and Dartmouth.
