-The 10-win improvement from the 2007-08 to 2009-10 seasons is already Princeton's largest two-year improvement since 1933. Princeton's largest all-time improvement in two or fewer seasons was from the 1918-19 to 1919-20 seasons, when its win total grew by 11 games.
-Through Thursday's games, Princeton remained ranked No. 1 in the nation in scoring defense at 52.7 points per game (now 52.6). Northern Iowa, at 55.4 points per game, was second. Princeton's next-highest ranking was in free-throw percentage, where the Tigers' .733 (now .729) average ranked 38th.
-If Princeton whittles its 52.6 ppg average allowed to 50.9, it would equal the 35-second shot-clock era record (since 1993) held by the 2004 Air Force team coached by Princeton alum Joe Scott '87. The shot-clock era record (since 1985, at 45 seconds) belongs to the 1992 Princeton team that held opponents to 48.2 ppg.
-Princeton's loss at Cornell was its first Ivy road loss since last season's game at Cornell. The Tigers are now 5-1 this season on the road in the Ivy, their most league road wins since the team went 7-0 in 2004.
-Princeton lost at Cornell despite being the first team to hold the Red below 40 percent shooting this season. Cornell shot 34.2 percent for the game. The last team other than Princeton to hold Cornell to a field-goal percentage as low was Indiana (.327) on Nov. 30, 2008.
-Cornell held an advantage of free-throw shooting attempts of better than 2 to 1 against the Tigers, going 22 for 25 while Princeton went 7 for 11.
-Princeton lost despite outshooting Cornell .391 to .342 and outrebounding the Red 31 to 25. Cornell made up for it not only with the free throws, but also by committing just 10 turnovers to Princeton's 13 in a tight game.
-Cornell had not been outrebounded by six, as the Tigers did, since Dec. 22, 2008 against Saint Joseph's.
-Friday's loss at Cornell was the first in which either of Princeton's centers, Pawel Buczak or Zach Finley, scored in double digits. Princeton had been 4-0 when one of those players reached at least 10 points.
-Friday night's game at Cornell marked the first time in the 10-season Steve Donahue era in which the Big Red shot as good a percentage (.880) while making at least 22 free throws. Cornell was 22 of 25 from the stripe against Princeton.
-Princeton's last two opponents have had outstanding free-throw shooting nights, certainly helping lead to the Tigers' close losses. Combined, Brown and Cornell went 40 of 44 (.909) from the line in games Princeton lost by a total of six points.
-While Cornell and Brown were having two excellent nights from the free-throw line, Princeton was having two of its most unfortunate. The Tigers were 11 of 18 (.611) in their two near-misses, marking their first back-to-back sub-65 percent games from the line since the last two games of the 2007-08 season.
-Princeton has gone 10 of 43 (.233) from three-point range in the last two games, losses to Brown and Cornell. The last time Princeton had two sub-25 percent games from long distance was against Monmouth and Wagner in December, going 9 of 48 (.188). Both of those games were Tiger wins.
-Cornell's two worst three-point shooting games of the season have come against Princeton. In the two games, Cornell managed to go 4 of 18 (.222) against Princeton. The Big Red entered the weekend as the No. 2 team in Division I for three-point percentage at 42.2 percent.
-Princeton still has not lost a game by more than three points since Dec. 3, a 14-point loss at Rutgers. Since then, Princeton has gone 14-4 with the four losses coming by a combined 11 points.
-A Princeton win at Columbia would give the Tigers 17 victories, matching the most in the post-John Thompson III era. Princeton went 20-8 in Thompson's final year of 2004 and 17-13 the following season.
-The current Princeton senior class will graduate without having won in Cornell's building, but a win at Columbia would give the '10 Tigers their first win at Levien Gym and make Newman Arena the only such unlucky building for the current group. Princeton last won on Manhattan Island in 2005.
-Princeton is 4-1 in Ivy play on Fridays, but just 2-2 on Saturdays of those back-to-back weekends.
-Of Princeton's most-used eight players, five have higher scoring averages in Friday Ivy games than Saturday, and no one outside of those eight has scored a point in a Saturday Ivy game. The three averages of greater difference than 1.5 points per game belong to Dan Mavraides (4.1 fewer ppg Saturday), Kareem Maddox (3.1 fewer ppg Saturday) and Marcus Schroeder (4.8 more ppg Saturday).
-Last time against Columbia, a 55-45 Princeton win Feb. 12 in Jadwin Gym, Princeton outshot the Lions 51.4 percent to 34.0 percent and outrebounded Columbia 31-25. Douglas Davis led the Tigers with 15 points, and Princeton got double-digit scoring contributions from two key players off the bench, Zach Finley (10) and Ian Hummer (11). Hummer nearly had a double-double, adding nine rebounds, and Finley added seven. Noruwa Agho led Columbia with 15 points while Max Craig added 10. Agho was 4 of 17 (.235) from the field.
-Kareem Maddox is averaging 7.4 points per game in Ivy League contests after averaging 2.2 points in the non-conference schedule. Maddox had a career-high 14 points at Harvard on Feb. 5 and also scored double-digits with 10 points against Yale on Feb. 19 and 11 at Cornell on Feb. 26. Of his 100 points this season, 74 have come in Ivy games.
-Zach Finley has been a consistent producer off the bench for the Tigers, scoring in 14 straight games. Ian Hummer has also been a spark for Princeton, scoring in 11 of the last 12 games off the bench.
-Zach Finley is shooting 8 for 13 (.615) from the field in the last four games.
-Helped by 5-1 road records from Princeton and Harvard so far this Ivy season, as well as a 4-1 record from Cornell, road teams have a 23-21 record in Ivy games this season. Seven of the eight Ivy teams (Dartmouth) have a road win.
-Princeton has started the same five -- seniors Marcus Schroeder and Pawel Buczak, junior Dan Mavraides and sophomores Patrick Saunders and Douglas Davis -- for the last 21 games.
-Through Thursday's games, three Tigers were ranked among the top 250 players in the nation in a statistical category. Douglas Davis' 2.3 three-pointers per game (now 2.2) ranked 106th. Dan Mavraides' 2.0 three-pointers per game ranked 239th. Marcus Schroeder's 1.97 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked 89th and his 1.8 steals per game ranked 84th.
-Princeton is 13-2 this season when it shoots 40 percent or better. The Brown loss was just Princeton's second defeat when hitting the 40 percent threshold, with the other loss coming at Cal in November.
-Princeton is 9-0 this season when it scores more than 60 points.
-Princeton is 12-1 this season when it leads at the half, 4-7 when it trails and 1-0 when it is tied. The loss to Brown was Princeton's first defeat of the season when it had a halftime lead.
-Princeton ranks No. 1 in the Ivy League on the season overall in four statistical categories, including scoring defense (52.6 ppg), field goal percentage defense (.401), rebounding defense (29.0) and steals (7.9 spg).
-Princeton's shooting percentages from the field and beyond the arc are better on the road than at home, even though the Tigers have won seven of 10 in Jadwin this season. Overall, Princeton is shooting .424 at home and .441 on the road. From three-point range, the Tigers are shooting .360 at home and .372 on the road.
-Princeton is 7-1 when Ian Hummer scores 10-plus points, including seven straight wins, and 13-3 when Dan Mavraides hits double digits, as both did at Penn. Princeton's other records when players score at least 10 points are: Douglas Davis (11-3), Patrick Saunders (3-2), Zach Finley (3-0), Pawel Buczak (2-1), Kareem Maddox (2-1), Will Barrett (1-0), Marcus Schroeder (1-0) and Nick Lake (0-1).
-Sophomore Douglas Davis, with 632 points, has scored the most points of any Tiger through his freshman and sophomore seasons since Chris Young '02, who had 801 points in 1998-99 and 1999-2000.
-Last weekend, Douglas Davis became the 14th Tiger to have more than 100 career three-pointers. Davis is one of 12 Tigers to have at least 50 three-pointers in a season.
-Marcus Schroeder stands in sixth place on Princeton's career assist list with 276. He is between two of his current coaches on the list, Brian Earl (263) and Sydney Johnson (280). Schroeder is in fifth place on the career steals list, with 147. Johnson holds the record with 169.
-Douglas Davis has missed only one free throw since the return from finals break, going 17 for 18. Patrick Saunders is perfect from the line this season overall, going 10 for 10.
-Heading into the Saturday's games, six Tigers are on Ivy statistical leader lists this season. They are:
Pawel Buczak: Offensive rebounds (8th, 1.7), Blocks per game (13th, 0.6), Assists per game (19th, 1.8)
Douglas Davis: Threes per game (3rd, 2.2), Free throw percentage (6th, .852), Minutes per game (9th, 31.4), Points per game (10th, 12.5), Three-point percentage (11th, .408), Steals per game (14th, 1.1), Field goal percentage (16th, .426),

On Columbia: The Lions, which had dropped four of five heading into the weekend, got a go-ahead bucket with two seconds left to beat Penn 56-55 Friday night ... Seven of Columbia's 10 wins this season have come in the team's 12 home games ... Entering the weekend, Noruwa Agho ranked in the top 250 nationally in four statistical categories: 127th in points per game (14.6), 146th in three-pointers per game (2.2), 178th in field goal percentage (.443) and 248th in steals per game (1.5) ... Agho's steals fuel Columbia's top national statistical ranking, which was 106th in steals per game at 7.3 ... Agho has more than triple the number of points this season of his next closest teammate, with 422 to 136 for Patrick Foley ... Foley has missed eight straight games and 11 of the last 13 due to injury ... Brian Grimes is the team's leading rebounder (5.7 rpg) and shot blocker (12 on the season) ... Kevin Bulger is the team's leading assist man with 53 on the season ... Columbia ranks eighth in the Ivy in assist-turnover ratio (0.7) on the season ... Columbia's 14 lowest shooting performances have all been losses ... Columbia has shot 80 percent from the line this season in just four games ... Columbia's last seven opponents have all shot better than 40 percent ... Asenso Ampim has missed four of the last nine games, including the Princeton game, but has scored double digits in three of the five games he did play ... Columbia is 4-2 when Ampim reaches double digits and is 7-4 when Niko Scott scores 10+.
