Judson Wallace '05 Signs with Spanish Team Gran Canaria
August 30, 2010 | Men's Basketball
Judson Wallace, a 2005 Princeton alumnus, will continue his European professional basketball career with the Spanish team C.B. Gran Canaria, the club announced on Aug. 25.
Wallace helped the Tigers to two postseason appearances, including the 2002 NIT and the 2004 NCAA Tournament. The three-time All-Ivy League honoree began his professional career in Germany, playing for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven for two years concluding in 2007, and then three years in the Italian league, the first with Pierrel Capo d'Orlando and the last two with Benetton Treviso.
Following the 2006 and 2008 European seasons, Wallace got NBA summer league looks with the Houston Rockets and the Phoenix Suns, respectively.
The 2010 season saw Wallace nearly continue a double-digit scoring average string that began in his sophomore year at Princeton and lasted through the 2008-09 season. In his last campaign with Benetton Treviso, Wallace averaged 9.1 points and 7.2 rebounds, giving him an average of at least seven rebounds per game in all five of his professional seasons.
Gran Canaria is part of the 18-team Liga CBA, the top professional league in Spain, and is based in Las Palmas, the largest city in the Canary Islands.
