Men's Basketball Voted No. 7 in CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll
February 15, 2011 | Men's Basketball
Princeton has moved up two spots to No. 7 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll, released Monday.
The Tigers are on a nine-game winning streak and have swept through the first half of the Ivy League. It is the first time since 1999 that Princeton is 7-0 at the midway point, and the nine-game winning streak is the program's longest since 2004. Another win would give the Tigers their first 8-0 Ivy record since 1998 and their longest winning streak since an 11-game string in 1999.
Princeton's 19-4 record is also its best through 23 games since 1998, when the Tigers were 22-1 on the way to a 26-1 regular-season finish.
The Tigers are also the Ivy League leaders in scoring defense (63.1 ppg), in field goal percentage (.472), in field goal percentage defense (.415), in 3-point field goal percentage (.376) and in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.327).
Coming off of the team's first sweep of the Columbia-Cornell trip since 2004, Princeton will head to Yale and Brown for a pair this weekend.
