Kareem Maddox Named Ivy League Player of the Week
February 28, 2011 | Men's Basketball
PRINCETON -- Senior forward Kareem Maddox has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for men's basketball for the third time this season after helping the Princeton men's basketball team to a weekend sweep of Cornell and Columbia.
After the Ivy League weekend was complete, Princeton once again stood in first place atop the Ivy heading into the final full weekend of league play.
On senior night against Columbia, Maddox enjoyed his sixth 20-point game of the season, reaching that number on 7 of 13 field goals made and 6 of 7 hit from the free-throw line while also pulling down eight rebounds. The night before against Cornell, Maddox scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds making 6 of 7 from the field and his only free throw try.
Maddox also had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio for the weekend of seven to four and had three blocks and two steals.
The award follows Maddox's Ivy Player of the Week honors on Dec. 13 and 20. He is the second Tiger to be so recognized, as Ian Hummer was selected on Dec. 6.
