Princeton-Harvard Men's Basketball to be Shown on ESPN3.com
February 28, 2011 | Men's Basketball
The season's second meeting between Princeton and Harvard, the only two teams still alive for the Ivy League title and NCAA Tournament berth, will be televised on ESPN3.com, Harvard announced Monday.
The game will tip Saturday at 7 p.m. from Harvard's Lavietes Pavilion.
Princeton leads the Ivy League at 10-1 and 22-5 overall, while the Crimson are just a half-game back at 10-2 and 21-5 overall. Princeton won the first meeting 65-61 in Jadwin Gym on Feb. 4 in a game televised on ESPNU. Saturday's game will be Princeton's ninth televised contest this season.
Both teams will have Friday matchups to attend to first, with Princeton heading to Dartmouth for a 7 p.m. tip and Harvard hosting Penn. The Crimson will close out their regular season this weekend, while the Tigers will play their regular-season finale at Penn next Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
The scenarios for the Ivy League title depend very much on what happens Friday night, but a Princeton weekend sweep would give the Tigers the outright title and NCAA bid, while Harvard can at least force an Ivy playoff with a win over Princeton. Such a playoff would be played at a neutral site with all particulars yet to be determined.
Princeton's last Ivy League title and NCAA Tournament berth came in 2004, while Harvard is in pursuit of its first-ever Ivy title and first NCAA Tournament berth since 1946.
