Davis Named Princeton Athlete of The Week, Nominated For National Honor
March 14, 2011 | Men's Basketball
The honors, both local and national, keep pouring in for Douglas Davis.
Davis, who hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to beat Harvard in the Ivy League playoff game and send Princeton to the NCAA tournament, is one of four finalists for the Capital One Cup Impact Performer of the Week.
The clutch shot from the Princeton junior earned him a spot on the ballot - and on ESPN's website - along with North Carolina's Harrison Barnes, UConn's Kemba Walker and Washington's Isaiah Thomas. There is a video recap of what each did in the last week, and fans are asked to vote for the one who ultimately will win.
Capital One is not the only corporate entity Davis attracted. Much closer to home, Davis, who scored 15 points in the game, nine of which came in the final 10 minutes, earned the Coach USA Princeton Athlete of the Week award.
Davis was also interviewed on ESPN2's First Take show this morning by Michael Smith.
